What started as Zac Beker’s idea to build an inclusive space for networking has grown to a thriving program of The Enterprise Center.
Networking & Neurodiversity is a regular happy hour created to engage people who are neurodiverse in a comfortable setting. The program grew to engage employers, as well, with panels and guest speakers, as well as resume review and mock interviews.
“I never thought a comment I made in a panel years ago would spark a series of networking events to help others in their job search,” said Zac, Program Manager of Networking & Neurodiversity. “I’m glad I was given the chance to use my experiences in looking for work to help those who are currently going through the same things I went through in the past. I’m proud to be part of such important work, and look forward to seeing where we can take the program in the future.”

Partners and Programming
Each event offers attendees a unique perspective or skill set related to job seekers, from a panel discussion on inclusive hiring practices to mock interview sessions. In addition to programming from sponsors and partner organizations, Game On Chattanooga provides games to connect and spark conversation.
In April, a team of mock interviewers gave attendees one-on-one feedback; employers from across the city talked with attendees about their qualifications and experiences.
“These happy hour events aim to break down barriers and foster a supportive environment for neurodiverse professionals and employers,” says Kevin Love, Director of Innovative Workforce & Economy at The Enterprise Center. “We hope to create meaningful connections and provide valuable resources for both individuals and businesses looking to embrace neurodiversity for the ideal performance of our business community.”
