The Enterprise Center team was saddened to learn of the passing of Joe Ferguson, the founding president of The Enterprise Center.
Named by then-City Mayor Bob Corker in 2003, Joe’s time here, like so much of his career, was marked by projects with the potential to transform Chattanooga for future generations — including leading federally-supported planning grants around high-speed rail, as well as a local delegation to explore Maglev train technology in Shanghai.
Joe’s lasting legacy is epitomized both in his leadership on the EPB Board of Directors, during the pioneering launch of the Gig, as well as in his colleagues’ day-to-day memories of a kind, collaborative and supportive teammate.
Joe was a visionary business and civic leader, and, while The Enterprise Center’s mission has evolved over the last 20 years, his faithful dedication to our community will continue to shape and inspire our work.
